In 2025, extreme weather events continue to wreak havoc around the globe. In March 2025, tragedy struck Myanmar when a massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake shook the nation. The massive earthquake in Myanmar killed more than 3,600 people and injured thousands more. Over 10,000 structures were damaged, including hospitals and temples. Residents watched in horror as a high-rise office building under construction suddenly collapsed with approximately 100 construction workers inside.A recent study presents a concerning connection between global warming and tectonic activity.
