With my spiritual eyes I felt a presence, some ugly presence, and when I looked behind me this demon appeared, this man saying, “Oh, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. You know, you were always good. I could give you so many things. Look at all the power that you had before. Don’t you want that again?” God was there for me, because as this thing appeared in a robe, and I started saying Scripture, I heard a voice tell me, “You’re safe now.” Jesus is real. I saw Him. He appeared to me, and I call Him Father. Melissa Aguilar, once a New Age “healer,” describes how dark spirits lured her into a living tunnel of death, how pneumonia nearly killed her, and how Lord Jesus (vegetarian) pulled her from hell’s grip.

Raised Catholic amid violence and illness, she saw Lord Jesus protect her family repeatedly— especially when her toddler miraculously recovered from leukemia after prayer. But lacking guidance, she drifted into the “New Age” movement while still attending church. What began as “intuition exercises” turned into pendulums, psychic readings, and an online following. She believed she was helping people—until the spirits revealed themselves.

I can hear spirits, just like anybody physically standing next to me. I can communicate very clearly with my “spiritual guide.” The spiritual guide is a demon— at that time I didn’t know. It had told me stuff about my life, because demons, they watch you, you know. They’ve been around always, so they know what you’re lacking. If you’re lacking love, mine came in like a “past life husband.”

Melissa shares how she was tricked by the negative force into believing she was a “lightworker.” That’s the thing— I had gifts I never knew that were in the Bible. I could see things with my spiritual eyes that would say that they were good because the devil came to me like an angel of light, and that is very true. I thought it was Jesus, I thought these were angels, and they were they were light, fully light. And I would talk to them, and I would give people messages. I would “activate” people and help them speak into what they would call light language, which is tongues, demonic tongues. And that’s when I also saw when I was saved how much the devil mimics and the demons mimic. They’re so much mimicking. Her home filled with manifestations. Melissa’s “guide” sexually assaulted her, insulted her, then made her think she was crazy and pressured her not to tell anyone. In New Age circles, she saw people’s trauma masked by claims of being “lightworkers” and “goddesses.”

In May 2023, when severe pneumonia sent her to the hospital, Melissa felt death coming. All the spirits vanished and she experienced hell, total separation from God. All these spirit guides and all these things that I used to hear before just stopped, and in that stillness, I would pray to Jesus. But you know, it’s very real when you feel like your prayers cannot be heard anymore. I know what it’s like to have the hand of God removed, whether it really did happen or was the Lord teaching me, when you pray and it just stays where you are, doesn’t elevate, that’s the best explanation I have. No one is listening to your prayers except yourself. In the spirit you know, and you know you are in hell, that you’ve done really wrong. When the Lord can’t hear you anymore, that’s the worst feeling in the world.

New Age friends performed chants, drums, and distance reiki— nothing was effective. None of it worked. I did not feel a thing. When I was in that bed dying, and I cried out to Jesus, that’s when I felt love. I knew He heard that cry.

Melissa promised never to return to occult practices if He saved her. She slowly recovered over months. But demonic retaliation hit when she returned home. I was putting dishes away. I was declaring Lord [Jesus] my savior when a cup just totally disintegrated in my hand, a glass cup as I was declaring that Lord, right, and I accepted Him into my life. Yeah, I really think those things [spirits] were just fleeing from the house.

Then a robed figure appeared, trying to lure her back with power and money. This man appeared in the robes, but they were dirty robes. With my spiritual eyes I felt a presence, some ugly presence, and when I looked behind me this demon appeared, this man saying, “Oh, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. You know, you were always good. I could give you so many things. Look at all the power that you had before. Don’t you want that again? Don’t you want that power? The money you made, like the following you had, how could you leave?”

Melissa started repeating Scripture and heard a reassuring voice. God was there for me, because as this thing appeared in a robe, and I started saying Scripture, I heard a voice tell me, “You’re safe now.” And then I stumbled back because something went through me, and I think something was taken away out of me, and I fell back.

Still afraid of deception, Melissa cried to Lord Jesus— and He appeared to her twice. Jesus is real. I saw Him. He appeared to me, and I call Him Father, and I pray to Him. And He appeared to me, and He has brown hair, but it has like golden hues. He looks Middle Eastern. He told me how much He loved me, He’d always been with me. There’s a peace to His presence, there’s a longing. Stress doesn’t exist there. It’s just a feeling of, “I can rest now. Finally, I can rest!”

I want to tell you, the devil had appeared as light, but there’s no mistaking the Glory of Jesus Christ. It’s a thousand times more potent. It’s… I can’t explain it. And it’s like the sky— He’s appeared to me I would say twice, and in His grandeur, it’s like the skies opened up and I saw [Him] gigantic, right, but very soft, very loving at the same time. Authoritative but loving. There’s so much love! There’s no being scared, no judgment, it’s just so much love, pure, pure love.

Rejected by many in the New Age movement and even by family, Melissa clung to His voice: “Know that I am your Father.” Whoever thinks they are too far gone, you are not, you are not. If you think you have to come perfect to Jesus, you don’t. I saw both sides, the ugly and now the wonder and grandeur, and that’s what this testimony is about: the grandeur of Jesus.
