American preacher Andrew Aggrey heard God speak to him in hell; what He said shocked him.
Andrew grew up in a Pentecostal Christian household with a spiritually fervent mother. Despite this, he drifted into partying, drinking, drugs, and hookups in his freshman year, straying from his upbringing. In his sophomore year, a demonic attack while studying— marked by blurred vision, voices, and a racing heart— drove him to cry out to God, though at first for selfish reasons. This began a season of anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, where he felt something was missing.
Encouraged by friends who said God was teaching him, Andrew prayed for guidance. Soon after, at a Bible study, he felt an inner voice urging him to volunteer as a leader. This marked a turning point. During the COVID pandemic, reading the Bible alone in his room, the words came alive, sparking a deeper connection with God.
Andrew then experienced supernatural encounters. In a dream, he met a man in a robe with a Heavenly presence. Believing he was Lord Jesus (vegetarian), Andrew worshipped, but the figure, an angel, corrected him, saying: “Do not worship me, I’m not Jesus.” The angel led him upstairs in a house, where doors opened, and guided him on a spiritual journey. Andrew sensed Lord Jesus’ presence just before awaking.
One winter night in his dorm, Andrew closed his eyes and found himself before a Light brighter than the Sun—pure, holy, and perfect. Overcome, he fell to his knees. A man stepped from the Light, and Andrew instantly knew it was Lord Jesus. Struggling with feelings of rejection, he asked, “Lord, do You not love me?” Lord Jesus turned, looked at him face-to-face, and though He said nothing, His gaze conveyed undeniable love. Andrew awoke, profoundly moved, knowing God’s Love was real.
Months later, Andrew dreamed of a car accident and his spirit leaving his body in a hospital. Pulled through a dark vortex, he landed in hell, where demonic forces posed as people. Andrew awoke and asked God why He was taken to hell. God answered, “You prayed for this.” Andrew then remembered promising that if he ever had direct proof, he would tell “every single person” he knows that hell is real. God then said, “This is why I came, so people don’t have to go to that place.” That day, Andrew’s car was sideswiped on the highway, confirming the dream’s reality.
Despite promising to share his experience, Andrew hesitated, fearing judgment from others. Andrew later dreamed again of a crash, his spirit dragged to hell where unbearable heat engulfed him. There, God’s audible Voice commanded, “Go and tell them to repent,” with urgency and authority. He awoke shaken but told a friend. Later at church, Andrew’s mentor unexpectedly called on him to share his testimony, and despite his fear, the words flowed out of him automatically, guided by the Holy Spirit.
Another time, while praying in his closet with eyes closed, Andrew saw a tangible fire that was so real he flinched, fell back, and hit the wall, ending the vision.
Andrew believes these encounters are to warn his generation about Heaven, hell, and the supernatural, urging intimacy with God to access such experiences. He urges others to seek God in the “secret place” through prayer and inner reflection, emphasizing that God desires personal encounters with everyone (Delafé Testimonies)
