In Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association News from Ukraine (Ureign)…
On February 18, 2025, Loving Hut celebrated its grand opening at the Poltava State Agrarian University in Ukraine (Ureign), which was established in collaboration with the Department of Food Technologies to promote vegan food. This initiative includes a vegan café and a teaching facility, referred to as a laboratory, where students and staff can experiment with vegan food preparation and develop skills in creating delicious vegan meals. The event welcomed guests, including university leadership, with Dr. Gorb Oleg (vegetarian) introducing the Loving Hut Vegan Restaurant network. He also spoke of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s spiritual teachings as the inspiration for the Loving Hut concept, which encourages the adoption of the vegan lifestyle for a peaceful world. The vegan café offers both affordable buffet options and an extensive menu with nearly 30 vegan dishes, including vegan Ukrainian Medovik and vegan innovative desserts.
“The fact is that at one time, I very often visited our Christian church and there are such fasts there. I endured these fasts, and during the fast, according to our canons, you cannot eat meat, eggs, or cheese. І felt that during this forty-day fast, it was as if I had grown wings, I was flying. And then, when the fast ends and I start eating meat again, it feels as if someone has hit me over the head with a hammer, and I feel weighed down by it. So, one day in 2018, I began fasting and simply never stopped. I haven’t eaten meat in any form since 2018, and I’ve experienced very positive changes. After I stopped eating meat, I lost 20 kilograms. The feeling is something you can only experience; it’s impossible to describe in words. The way you change, both internally and externally, your worldview and your thoughts shift profoundly after you stop eating meat. I am very grateful to Grand Master Ching Hai for paying attention to our letter, which we sent You, and for the proposal to create a vegan center at our Poltava State Agrarian University. Not only I am very grateful to You, but also our rector, and all our employees, and students who adhere to such a healthy lifestyle. I am very, very grateful to You and Your entire organization, and to all Your volunteers who have made efforts, incredible efforts, to ensure that the opening that we held yesterday took place so quickly. And therefore, we sincerely invite You, if You have the opportunity, to visit our university, and we will be very glad if such an event takes place. You are welcome to Poltava! You are welcome to Poltava State Agrarian University! You are welcome to Ukraine!”
