Eat more fruits and vegetables and make my job even more satisfying! Here is a good tip for choosing sweet and juicy oranges. Some ripe oranges can be yellowish or even slightly green – they don’t have to be orange in color. What matters is that the color is consistent across the skin. Avoid pale patches or uneven tones. Look for oranges that are slightly oval or belly-shaped rather than round. These tend to have more slices, firmer flesh, and a sweeter, juicier taste. Oranges with rough or slightly wrinkled skin have often ripened well on the tree and absorbed more nutrients, but make sure there’s no damage or rot. Check the stem if it’s still attached – fresh, green stems or leaves are a good sign the orange was recently picked. And always go by weight as heavier oranges are usually full of juice and flavor. Give them a feel before buying.
