On August 1, 2025, a historic milestone took place as the National Vegetarian Science and Nutrition Center officially held its inauguration ceremony in the capital city of Hà Nội, Âu Lạc (Vietnam), under the Grace of Heaven and the Buddhas! No longer will there be lonely tears shed on the path of creating vegetarian food, and no longer will there be misguided notions about vegetarianism such as: lacking nutrients, being heretical, or – most wrongly – harming the nation. From now on, the vegetarian industry will officially be recognized by the Government of Âu Lạc (Vietnam) as a legitimate industry, just like all others!
The National Vegetarian Science and Nutrition Center is an organization under the Institute of Educational and Environmental Sciences, with the mission of raising awareness about the benefits of vegetarianism. The Center provides scientific research, professional training, and nutritional consultation to help communities adopt a vegetarian lifestyle in a scientific and well-balanced way. In addition, the Center offers both fundamental and specialized training courses in fields related to vegetarianism, such as marketing and communications, human resources, finance, startup support, legal affairs, business model development, event organization, and more – with the aim of providing comprehensive, in-depth training programs for the vegetarian sector!
I wept with gratitude for the boundless Grace that You have bestowed. Many vegetarian friends, along with numerous businesses and vegetarian restaurants, both large and small, gathered together here. The celebration concluded with a wholesome vegetarian buffet of more than 20 dishes, serving over 400 guests. Despite the 38°C heat of the capital city, the atmosphere at the event remained refreshingly cool. It is my hope that Âu Lạc (Vietnam) will take the lead in the movement of veganism – green living – protecting our beautiful Earth.
